The personalized love book, explained
A personalized love book is the story of the two of you, written from your memories and painted from your photos.
It is a hardcover about one real couple. You give the memories, how you met, the first trip, the night with the dogs on the couch, and a few photos of each of you. The book is written in your voice, like a long love letter, and the scenes are painted with the two of you in them. You read every page and approve it before it prints. That is what a LoveNote is, and this page explains the whole thing in plain words.

What goes in it
Fourteen memories, in order. The book opens where your story opens: how you met, who spoke first, what you noticed. It moves through the moments you choose, the proposal, the move, the holiday that went wrong and became the one you tell, and ends with where you are now. Thirty pages, hardcover, written as a letter from you to them.
Each memory becomes a painted scene with the two of you in it. The paintings are made from up to ten of your photos, so you look like yourselves at every age the book visits, and pets are welcome.
How it is made
You answer short questions about each memory in plain notes, about ten minutes in all. From those notes the book is drafted in your voice, and the scenes are painted from your photos. A person checks every book before it prints, for your names, your faces, and your story told right. Then you read it, page by page, change any line that does not sound like you, and approve it. Only then does it print, close to where you live, and ship to your door.
Who gives one
Most are given on an anniversary, especially the first, when the traditional gift is paper. Many are Valentine's or Christmas gifts. Some are given by grown children to their parents, for a fortieth or fiftieth anniversary, when the couple has everything and wants nothing but the story. Pages for each: the anniversary book, the Christmas gift, the Valentine's gift, and the book of how we met.
What to look for before you buy one, from anyone
Ask whether you see the finished pages before they print, or only a preview. Ask whose words are on the page: yours, a template's, or a machine's that you cannot change. Ask whether the two of you are painted from your photos or built from a menu of hair and skin tones. Ask what happens if you change your mind, and whether the total at checkout includes shipping. We answer each of those on the comparison with LoveTales and the comparison with LoveBook.
Questions people ask
- How is a personalized love book different from a photo book?
- A photo book is your photos with captions you write. A personalized love book is a story: the words are written from your memories, and the pictures are painted from your photos, so the two of you appear in scenes that were never photographed, like the first night you met.
- Do I have to be a writer?
- No. You answer short questions in plain notes. The book does the telling, in your voice. Every line is yours to change before anything prints.
- How long does it take?
- About two weeks from questionnaire to doorstep. The book is ready for your review within days; most of the two weeks is printing and shipping.
- What if it gets something wrong?
- You see every page before anyone else does, and nothing prints until you approve the whole book. A detail that lands wrong is something you fix in your own words while it is still on screen.
